Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno Barolo Cannubi

Much stronger bottle. Faded color - like iced tea. Great palate with loads of iodine, rose and plum and resolved and strong tannins. All the complexity of fully mature Barolo with no oxidized notes. Archetypical.

Really faded - light orange and little fruit left. Mostly acid and tannins, but completely sound with no oxidation. Drinkable but not much fun. After 2 days opened and corked, it blossomed. Still pale and mostly spine, but now with rose petals and much more flavor interest. Not a great wine but almost an archetype for really mature but not flawed Barolo.

0,72 liter bottle, 13,5% alc. Translucent pale ruby color with an obvious orange hue. Quite restrained, meager and a bit sweet bouquet with a light aroma of cherry marmalade. On the palate the wine is quite full-bodied and has a very silky texture. Gentle, juicy flavors of ripe cherry, some mature plummy fruit, a hint of floral complexity and a touch of dark berry jam.
