I've loved Boyer-Martenot bourgogne blanc forthe qpr, and the B-M premier crus for the top-notch quality, but the villages fails to satisfy either constituency - not a big upgrade from the bourg blanc in quality but falling way short of the pc's. Seemed a tad overoaked and harsh, lacking fruit and vibrance.

Powerful aromatics of lemon custard and tart grapefruit with mineral and white flowers. Tart white/yellow citrus on the palate with a lot of acidity throughout. Lots of minerality and energy to the wine. Very good.

With air, the finish becomes a bit more refined. I'll give this the benefit of the doubt and a longer decant next …

Great citrus aromatics (mostly lemon custard with a bit of white grapefruit), wet rocks, and slight smokey nuts. Bright acidity on the palate with lots of white citrus and a very nice core of minerality. Lengthy finish.

Fall Bachanalia (Green Dolphin St, Chicago IL) : nose: very smokey nose at the outset with mixed nuts, oil, citrus tones, and a slightly annoying amount of oak that starts to emerge taste: smokey backdrop on the palate with roasted nuts, citrus tones, and oak lying underneath overall: A very good meursault, but lacking a bit in acidity. Needs a bit of time to hopefully quell the oak a bit though it does have a nice smokey attack and citrus …
