Spicy, brambly black raspberry, plumb over vanilla and smoky garrigue with balanced acidity and very fine tannins. Medium finish. Good to drink straight out of bottle. Tannins and smoke develop further with air. Flavors thinned out on second day. Given the wide spectrum of reviews, I suspect that there may be two different wines on this name. Mine was Nielson Vinyard, black label.

Pale ruby color. Light bodied. Notes of cherry, cranberry, and raspberry. Not a whole lot here. Light to zero tannins, smooth, short finish. A decent effort, but not nearly as good as other Santa Maria pinots I have tasted.

Disappointing. Fruit flavors opened over time but a strong citric flavor persisted. Kind of thin overall.

Very non-descrip and pedestrian. Soft fruit and very little minerality. Good crowd pleaser for group that doesn’t know wine. Would not buy again.

Dark crimson in color, this wine reveals muted aromas of black raspberry, strawberry, cola and white flowers on the nose. The mouth feel is medium bodied with more spices including sassafras and subtle sage undertones. The finish brings noticeable heat that belies the stated 13.5% abv. Purchased for $21US, this wine started out pleasant but the heat on the finish made it somewhat disjointed overall. The heat became more pronounced during the 60 minutes the wine was open and re-tasted.

Pale purplish robe with watery edges. Instant fruit explosion with summery, big berry flavors of strawberriess and plums. Peppery accents. Rather lightweight palate still lively with acid and fruit. Tannin hardly showing. Short finish. An unpretentious happy wine suited for easy drinking. Good value for the price. Now till end 2018.
