Nice fresh coffee notes accompanied by notes of red currant berry fruit and saddle leather. Supposedly, this wine existed in the 4th Century and was supposedly drank by Ceasar himself. Possesses a nice fruit forward style with silky smooth tannins very fresh. Perhaps a bit short but is not atypical for the vintage and possesses a well balanced finish.

Oak funk nose. Plum and cassis palate, slighty watery and thin. Short fruity finish with drying tannins. Reasonable early drinking merlot based wine without a lot of complexity. Not great for $18, though no flaws.
