Botalcura Carm�n�re La Porfia Grand Reserve

I think I let this one go to long, as the last bottle was delicious, but this one's lacking some of that juicy fruit. On the nose, this shows some light stewed plums, gravel dust, light vanilla oak, and a slight bit of alcohol is showing. The palate shows some mildly pleasing dark fruits (plums, dark cherries, blackberries), the vanilla, but not like it showed a few years ago, and the tannic structure is quite massive. Dark ruby red. Dark fruits on the nose, plum and blackberry, leather. Medium weight palate. Good balance, not the greatest depth. Average finish.

Very heavy blackberries, fig compote, a kiss of vanilla oak, and a bit of dirty, thick plant roots on the nose. After a bit more sniffing, I finally realized this nose reminds me of a cupcake with frosting on top; yummy. Very nicely spicy on the palate on this full bodied wine. Red chili peppers and paprika carry into the finish, but there's also huge dark fruits, with subtle bark as well. All and all, this is a more forward …

Excellent wine. Dense and dark. Very fruity, but good depth and breadth of flavor as well. After several hours the alcohol became noticeable and the finish became a bit sour, but it remained exceptional and delicious. Would definitely buy again. 89-91.

not much on the nose other than subtle oak, medium to full bodied, complex with dark red fruit flavors, hints of oak and vanilla on a long finish - had with filet mignon and was big enough to stand up to steaks, but not quite as powerful as a full bodied cab - may have gotten more precise flavors with a salmon or something a little less powerful than the steak

Excellent wine. beautifull nose of dark berry fruit with notes of slate and wood. Very full and rich on the palate with lots of character. Coats the palate with a silky texture. Very well put together. EXCELLENT.

Wonderful bottle of wine from the new world. The grapes make a great tasting and well rounded wine. Easy to drink and great with all kinds of food. Highly recommended

Cherry, oak, pepper and tobacco. Slight acidity goes excellently with red meats.

85% carmen�re, 9% malbec, 6% merlot, harvested very late. This has a very attractive nose with raspberry and blackberry fruit and some pencil shavings. Concentrated and rich on the palate. This is a very fine wine and very together. Very Good Indeed+.
