Cecile Tremblay Bourgogne Côte d'Or

Not sure this is indicative of anything more than Cecile Tremblay making delicious wines, but this 2019 was pretty fantastic last night. Some oak still, but damn pretty and silky. Punching above its designation. Per usual.

My 5th bottle of this in the last few months, truly delicious and cannot stop drinking these. Red cherries and a little bit of dense black fruit. Vanilla. Beautiful nose of rose and violet. Complex with a long finish. My favorite Bourgogne rouge.

Quite approachable at this stage and definitely overshoots the complexity for being a "regular" Bourgogne Rouge. Age would probably help the tannins integrate more but by no means are they harsh. It's a good wine, but I'm just not sure this is worth current retail prices in the US...

Très beau pinot, charmeur à souhait, peut-être pas suffisamment marqué par le terroir (petit ou gros bémol c’est selon), mais quelle maîtrise et quelle harmonie ! Fruité mûr (framboisé), finesse de grain très correcte, rondeur gourmande, floral solaire (pivoine), avec un boisé discret et savamment orchestré: la classe pour un vin sans appellation, indeniablement magnifié par son auteur. Rien ne dépasse, c’est pur, net, sans arrogance…

Super tasty Bourgogne. There are certainly more delicious wines out there for the price these are currently trading at, but this bottle was very pretty.

Quite different to the '17 and '18 I tried earlier in the year. This is more dense and rich, with powerful dark fruit, spice and some pleasant whole bunch green-ness. A thoroughly enjoyable bottle.

What a great vintage 2019 is. What a beautiful regional wine. This is shooting way above the appellation. Wonderful fruit, and a hint of greenness that is so well integrated. Bravo Cécile!
