My previous notes all still apply. Just a beautiful wine. This time around, the balance between the wood and minerality was even better. Served at a dinner party with Middle Eastern food. Enjoyed by all.

PnP, chilled. Fruity nose. Light/med straw color. Med proper nose. This is a lovely wine. Med body, rich, slight oak, complex, some minerality, some butter but no intense. Usual Chard taste traits and flavor, long finish, nothing off. $78 winery direct.

Always one of my favorite Chardonnays. Citrus/lemon aroma. Nice balance of acidity and creaminess on the palate without too much butter or wood. The only drawback is that the price point is a bit steep, but OTOH, it never disappoints.

Maybe I was just in the mood for a nice Chardonnay, but I was very impressed with this, even though it was stylistically very different from my favorite Aubert's. A very soft nose giving off citrus / lemon zest, but not giving off many clues as to the tasting to come. Very smooth on the palate at 14.3%, with a clear citrus note on the front end, followed by a burst of melon on the mid palate and concluding with …

The wine starts gentle with a nose of creamy pear juice covered in orange rind shavings. With air from the decanter, the palate forms into flavors fresh cut mangoes covered in cream. Once air integrates the finish, you end with a vibrant citrus rind driven acidic minerality carries the flavors down your throat. This needs a 1-2 hour cold decant - it can be quite harsh as a PnP. The malo shows too strongly without enough air integrating the elements …

Rich and buttery with a lot of oak. Grapefruit and pear with cashew nuts. Decent acidity but not my favorite style.

Blind. Wasn't sure what to make of this wine, could it be a Rhone, could it be a burg, could it be a Napa? I really couldn't get behind the Rhone call because while it had all the concentration and weight it just didn't show any of the fruit profile that I would expect. Decided it's probably a Napa Chardonnay done in the big style with lots of creaminess and oak influence. Baked apple, spice, and plenty of caramel and …

An absolutely spectacular chardonnay. Had to try it young since it's my first CHEV, but this will last for years. Big and round, with nice minerality, stone fruit and a hint of honeyed sweetness. Could drink this all day long.

A very nice balanced Chardonnay that doesn't scream California. I'd be perfectly content to drink this on a regular basis, but not at full asking price direct from CHEV. There are plenty of other similar RRV bottlings for much less $ that I enjoy as much. So excellent juice, not so great QPR for my tastes.

Had to try another after the last corked bottle . Excellent , drinking greatly now with good fruit and acidity and a spicy & flowery bouquet. Nice finish. Would be even better in a few years, but my bottles are destine for an early demise! 😋 yum!
