Planeta, Didacus Cabernet Franc, Menfi

Great to be back to another vintage of this flagman from Planeta. Single varietal of CF, aged for 20 months in new FR oak. Deep ruby colour. Intense aroma of plums, cherries, herbs, spices, vanilla, tobacco. Full body, rich, broad and round, silky and dense texture, complex flavour profile from red and black fruits to herbs and chocolate notes with floral touches. Concludes with well balanced medium+ acidity and medium+ tannins.

Serious, elegant and impressive Sicilian Cabernet Franc. Still young and needs a lot of air to bring it to life. Excellent on day two. Blueberry, raspberry, plum, violet, earth, smoke, vanilla, with something medicinal. Very high acidity and fine tannins. Great balance and good length. Better served on the cool side.
