Granfort Merlot Vin de Pays d'Oc

This is the sort of wine that would appeal in comparative tastings, as it has soft, rather sweet fruit. By the end of the bottle, however, we had had enough of the sweetness, and there was little else to recommend it. It is a French wine trying to be like a new world wine, and failing. If it had stuck to its French roots, it might have been OK.
