Much better than the previous bottles which were probably corked. Very moderate amount of volatile acid, tertiary notes (coffee, mushroom). Feels very fresh in the mouth with some residual Fruits. Salivating. Long finish. The bottles kept well for three days.

MNB: Old Wines II (Jesper's) : Pale garnet to a tawny rim. Old wine nose. Sweet tamari apple. Bottle sweetness - dried honey, werthers butterscotch (bottle age plus oak?). From memory. Tawny ruby to apple yellow, soft flowery, dried dark berry nose, restrained trousseau palate with leather and a little spicy smoke. Surprisingly long finish for a lighter and older wine. Delicious with veal chops and porcini mushrooms.

CA Trousseau Fest (AP Milwaukee) : Beautiful garnet hue, amazingly youthful. Complex, mostly tertiary nose of cedar, eucalyptus, autumnal vegetation and dried flowers (and subtle brett?). Vibrant in glass, almost surprisingly so, with notes of exceedingly faint red fruits accented by lively, saline minerals and a lovely earthiness. Unique, contemplative and somewhat fascinating, this seems as though it could easily go for another 5-8+ years.

Slightly tawny rose. After a few hours of air and a slight chill, this was a delicious, fragrant, savory, fresh-red-fruited wine. I don't know otherwise what a 26-year-old trousseau should taste like, but this seems just about right. Enjoyed with baked roast beef hash.

Transparent cherry amber. This wine was reticent the first night, mostly showing maturity. The second night it was much brighter, nose of dark fruit, aged palate of blackberry and old leather, very soft on the tongue. The finish is solid and still fruity, younger than the nose. Overall the funk and bramble typical of trousseau are muted by age, now augmented by some mature stature; really a different experience if the variety.

Perfect strawberries, dark chocolate, great sweetness surrounds the fruit. After two hours walnuts, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, liquorice, almost Madeira-ish. Light bodied and yet very complex. Light red, almost transparent, fruit on the palate. Short aftertaste with a hint of grape. Undergrowth and raspberries. Very much alive and perhaps even young. Firm but soft acidity. Really good. Lacks a bit power and length on the palate but that lands on the grapes properties I guess.

Soirée Jura (Restaurant Madame Hu, Hamburg) : Brownish red with age notes. Quite advanced in the nose, the fruit has faded, notes of leather, dried leaves, black truffles dominate. On the palate, much fresher than in the nose, excellent, lively structure, medium to strong acidity reminding of red currant, not much noticeable tannin, just very slightly rustic. But great to drink.

Light in color - almost watery looking. The wine tasted more aged than the number on the bottle. There was some pleasure but it tasted over the hill for the most part and it lacked structure.
