Storrs Red Wine St. Clare Vineyard

Bought two bottles from a local liquor store as I wanted to try the 2012 vintage and see how it compared with that of 2009. Storrs seems to have some sort of magic with this blend of merlot, petite verdot, cab franc, and malbec. It has a very well balanced color and nose- very fruity and has some spice/pepper. My Grade: VG-. Not as good as previous vintages. Medium purple, red and blue berries on the nose with noticeable oak, light-medium bodied palate with Blackcurrant and blueberries, good acidity, medium tannins but too much new oak tends to overpower the rest. May balance out in a year or so, good with food (see my profile for grades).
