Kept under condition 1 (see my profile) since about 2016. No formal notes. Very nice wine, but at the end of its drinking window. At the first day 91-92.

The third bottle of four bottles of Chezeaux Boudots that crumbled before I got it out of the bottle. Brett on the nose and in the taste. Taste: Again nicely fresh red fruit and a lively acidity, with a nice depth. At the second day fresh red fruit, flowers and sweet herbs in the nose. The taste followed the nose, with even a little bit of garrigue, and it was well balanced. Very nice with food, even more on its …

Wow before I sat down to write this note I checked my CT tastings and the last Burg I had was December of 2014 so I think my last few experiences where not that good so I decided to hold pulling the cork on the 20+ odd bottles I have in the cellar. Anyway I thought it was time to check on a 2005 again and was glad it was a positive experience. Decanted this for about 1/2 hour before …

Only short notes. Nose: quite classy and balanced. Taste: nice, fresh red and black cherries, refined and quite classy. Still some fine but unresolved tannins. I will probably keep my last bottle a couple of years. With coq au vin a delicious wine. 91.

The cork was a bit black (fungus?) and crumbled when I tried to pull it out, so I had to push it in the bottle at last unfortunately. Taste: Juicy fruit, sous bois, a bit of laurel, solid acidity and still a bit tannic, at the second day also peppery. With quite a good body, this wine is rather square now, which seems to be characteristic for Nuits Saint Georges. At the first day I guessed, that this wine needed …

Pale garnet color. Mint, pine, red cherries, strawberries, caramel, licorice notes. Impulse grab from the cellar warming up slowly, but already it exudes a depth of fruity pinot character: red berries and sweet spice balanced with chewy oak and litely layered to titillate the palate. Well timed on this one, and predictably good.

N. Rosenthal Wine Merchant Old World Trade Tasting (Elysian Hotel - Chicago, IL) : Spicy raspberries, stewed fruit and black pepper. A mossy play on the back end. Lacking a bit of a mid palate but still thrilling.
