Opened for 2 hours. Color is deep opaque ruby. On the nose: Pepper, dark chocolate, cassis, plum and cured meat. On the palate: Pepper, plum, cassis, blood orange and pomegranate. Finish is a bit sour. Good mouthfeel and weight. Finish is a bit short. I would like to try a few other vintages as I think there is potential here.

See previous note. Drinking so well right now, still so fresh with sweet ripe fruit. That was my last bottle :(

Similar notes to last bottle. To that tasting note I'd add: Nose: understated power. Nice oak, some notes of milk chocolate, pepper and whiff of tobacco. Palate: nice concentration but not too concentrated. Velvety, luscious texture. Great structure - acidity is still strong with ripe tannins but all in harmony. Excellent. For me good McLaren Vale Shiraz is at its best with 15+ years when everything becomes more balanced, like this wine.

Appearance: deep ruby. Nose: fruits still strong - blackberry, plum, liquorice, some eucalyptus and wood smoke. Palate: full bodied but has matured nicely. Rich fruit. Good mouth feel. Long finish but a little bit sharp on the back palate.
