Hudson, Chardonnay, Napa Valley

Quite dark golden, looking rather aged. Smells like butterscotch, yellow apple, lemon, apricot, and wet stone. Medium to full body, medium (+) acid and finish, with flavors of yellow apple, pineapple, lemon curd, almond, saline. Rich but with good balancing acidity, aged but not quite tired (heading that direction though). Really nice wine.

as others have mentioned, this is a big chard. the oak comes thru a bit as well as some heat but also plenty of fruit and acid. still cruising along nicely at 10 y.o.

Great Chardonnay. Mineral, lemon, pear, citrus/tropical notes and some caramel. Nice long finish. Still has a good couple of years left before decline.

Well made in the big but balanced CA chard mold....some oak.....acidity is present, not fat of buttery, but also a bit monotonous for my palate at that of most of the group.

The previous notes were spot on. This is a wonderfully made Chardonnay. This wine is all about the vineyard. I've had three different Chard. Makers bottle this juice from Hudson vineyards. They were all sensational. It reminds me of some of the Aubert I own, at haft the price.

Chris' Farewell Dinner at WF OB : Wow. This is absolutely killer juice. Exactly what I'm looking for in New World Chardonnay. Rich and definitely some honeyed yellow fruit sporting a super complex nose. Great length with nice oak integration. Long finish with layers of fruit spice and earth. This wine has everything. Highly recommended.

What an incredible Chardonnay offering up everything that is attractive to fans of this varietal. Beautiful structure and weight, deft application of oak and featuring Wente clones. Nectarine and pineapple flavors preceded by floral aromas. This wine is elegant, pure and sophisticated. Some nuttiness and a nice viscous quality. Definitely a top tier wine in every respect.

Excellent Chardonnay from a favorite vineyard and producer. This vintage returns to what initially caught my attention. Bracing acidity, lovely citrus and mineral notes plus a perfect application of oak. The fruit still plays a starring role and this will get better with time I believe. Glad I have one more to enjoy.

Like it, no. Love it! Likely at its peak so pop one open tonight. Great flavor profile from the caramel to pineapple, mango and other tropical flavors. Superb!

This has more minerality compared to the 09 (the vintage and introduction to Hudson that we fell in love with). However, over the last 1-2 years our palate for Chard has changed quite dramatically. This is a very very good Chard. Knowing that this is the potential of a Hudson Chard, I'd like to revise my rating of the 2009 to a solid 91. But the 93 for this wine is right on. Fantastic chardonnay. Got this last year for Father's Day, and having it a year later with king crab, clams, and halibut off the grill was a real treat. Nice medium golden color. Aromas and flavors of pineapple, citrus, herbs, and a little vanilla. Full bodied with good acidity, long finish, and flavors following the nose. Very judicious use of oak gave a little roundness, but not overdone at all. Very well made.

Bright golden yellow in the glass. Nose and palate both show a lot of tropical fruits. The body is medium full with nice acid. Drinking well now.

At Gary's Grand Tasting. Excellent Chardonnay, fruit source is impecable. Bright colors, still very young. Citrus, orange peel, creamy lemon, toasted oak, nuts/grain, on back palate. Gorgeous wine that drinks well now or can be cellared.

Delicious Chardonnay from the famed Hudson vineyard where so many winemakers have made their mark producing great bottles of Chardonnay. This is about as good as it gets with fresh citrus cream and perfect acidity. Bright and lovely in the glass and on the palate. Aromas of ginger and spice with great freshness and perfect weight. A hint of minerality, nuttiness and subtle saline notes. Outstanding!

Lovely Chardonnay displaying elegant and refined fruit. Soft lemon citrus cream flavors with nice structure and complexity. Flavors continue to present with a bit of time in the glass. Wonderful aromatics and mouthfeel. A bit of oak counterbalances the great fruit.

Beautiful Chardonnay that kicked off New Year's Eve, perfectly matched with the seafood offerings we had landed on for our menu. Gorgeous yellow color and lemon cream flavors. Delicate and elegant with the deft touch of oak. Excellent mouthfeel and lasting impression.
