As with the last bottle, a distinct pop of the screwcap on opening. Pale lemon gold. Some tiny bubbles clinging to the side of the glass. A very muted nose, with just a bit of peachy fruit and some sulphur. There's a clear sweetness on the palate, along with a hint of spritz. Lacking acidity - there's nothing to balance the sweetness. Doesn't develop at all in the mouth: quite simple and uni-dimensional. This is a Spätlese, but with an …

Definite pop and "fzzzzz" on opening the bottle. Has there been some secondary fermentation? Pale-to-medium lemon gold, with quite a few bubbles clinging to the glass. Big, oily, honeyed, rotting apples nose, with some obvious sulphur. Only a slight spritz on the palate. A bit sugary sweet, with lots of zing. Quite oily riesling fruit on the palate. Almost a bit of a resinous feel. Great depth, very long, but somehow feels incomplete, or maybe just not in the best …

Mid golden colour, with just a slight green tinge. Quite a subtle nose with some sweet peach fruit. Bit of a sugary feel on the palate. Good riesling fruit, a little sweet and out of balance. I think this needs time to come round again. 86/100 at the moment, but with the potential to regain 91-92/100

Yellow straw with the merest hint of a green tinge. In the first glass, lots of bubbles lingering round the bottom of the glass, but not present on subsequent pours. Peaches, struck match sulphur, gassy mercaptans and maybe a hint of butterscotch on the nose. On the palate, the immediate impression is of a full-on really quite sweet riesling. I was expecting it to develop from that in the mouth, but it doesn't really. Some minerality and lots of acidity. …

A slightly alarming "pop" on opening the screwcap, a concern rather sustained by a lot of bubbles clinging to the glass. But no actual bubble stream or fizz. Quite a muted nose with some light honey, white flowers and a hint of sulphur. Complex palate - quite chalky in its minerality. There's a real zingy note, but the overall impression at the moment is of a rather obvious sweetness. Sherbetty finish with a real tingle lingering after. I wonder if …

Fresh apples, nectarines and a hint ofhoneysuckle and another of butterscotch on the nose.Very bright and clear in the mouth. There's some sweetness, that starts to feel a little obvious, but there's just enough acidity to balance. Notable length, with clean crisp riesling fruit flavours.

A very attractive riesling nose, now starting to lose its vibrancy of early youth and taking on some subtle petrolly notes, with peach fruit knitting it all together. Lovely attack - very fresh and bright. It very quickly widens out in the mouth. This bottle feels a tad sweeter than the last one opened, but with a sherbetty, zingy citrus bite to it also. There's nice ripe fruit and minerality, which both linger on the palate after. Remarkable length.

Strikingly intense tingling fruit, chalky, and with a lifted medicinal tone, finished quite dry, characterful and very good
