shared with pat at selkirk manor. things have been so hectic due to wedding planning that i have fallen behind with recording consumption. i pulled this bottle, not remembering that i had consumed one just a month ago. pulled this bottle because i was concerned about longevity. tasting notes are much the same as last time. this bottle was also in much better shape than the one i brought to an offline tasting last year. still, it needed some time …

shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. pulled this bottle because i was concerned about longevity. especially in the absence of recent notes from others. this bottle was in much better shape than the one i brought to offline tasting last year. still, it needed some time to come around and show itself. nice dark color. no signs of premature age. appealing nose. mostly cherry. lots of dark stone fruit and earth in …

brought to central jersey CT off-line tasting at peking duck house in nyc. shared with pat, chris, margaret, dom, mark, john and brooke. there was a lot of great wine on the table so this did not get much attention. mark was surprised to see that this was a california product. color slightly brown. at first the wine was a bit musty but this blew off. nice soft fruit in balance with other components. improved in the glass putting on …

We have been through a six pack of this. I wish all CA pinots aged as well as this. Bricking at the rim, dark fruits and earth on the nose and palate...continues to open up and evolve for about 3 hours. Some bottle variation, generally about 90 pts, one bottle a year ago was borderline stunning (and somewhat "Burgundian") @ 93 pts.

Starting to show its age. Brickish color and with a bit less fruit than prior bottles. The earthy aromas and flavors dominate. Still very enjoyable with a lean, elegant mouthfeel, silky texture and nice finish.

Better than the last bottle from 4 months ago-earthy with tree sap overtones-old world style indeed!

Another very nice bottle. Same dark fruits as before, but also with some ripe strawberry in the mix. A bit sweeter, softer and richer than prior bottles - but still with the earth and underbrush in the background. Also not as lean and with less structure. This was a lot more Californian than burgundian, but still very nice.

Very nice. I went thru about 2 cases of the 2005 vintage of this and loved it. The 2006 is a bit less elegant than the 2005, but equally delicious. Dark fruits and earthy aromas that carry over to the palate. As others have noted, there is a lot of old world in this wine. Dark fruits with a lot of very rustic underbrush and earth flavors. Slightly rough and lean texture with good acidity and a lot of structure. …

Light ruby color, seductive bouquet of spice and French oak, medium body, long finish. Completely wonderful but not like a California pinot at all. Blind, I'd have put this down as a Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses. It's tragic that this vineyard went out of business.

nice round, california pinot. not overripe, very subdued for the alcohol level. good acid, balanced very well with the oak. strawberries for fruit and spiciness on the tongue. just a touch of heat in the throat after swallowing.

Very old world in style-flowers and minerals that make it elegant elegant. Acid a little high right now-maybe a couple more years in the bottle. Have will food like pheasant or Cornish Game Hen with orange or balsamic reduction.
