4.5 years since I enjoyed a bottle of this. And this is my last one. Surprisingly youthful given that it is at the 10yr mark. Youthful black cherry, acidic with an herbal character. Finishes with a surprising youthful quality about it and acidity. The recurring theme is black cherry and flooded in all aspects by this. Really good sangiovese in the right spot.

This is an interesting wine. Wasn’t a fan when I opened it and it really didn’t get too much better the first night (too jammy and light) but saved 1/2 for night 2 and it was much more complex and gained some weight.

Wow. This girl has legs. Sticks to the glass and the mouth. Beautiful ripe red berries on the nose and front pallet and awesome tannic structure with velvety grip on the back. A interesting interpretation of super Tuscan from Cali. Super unique. Really nice right now, especially after a couple hours open in the bottle. Only downside is the tannins turn a bit astringent in the late stages - might mellow a bit with some more time in bottle or …

Excellent wine, but all California vs Tuscany. Lots of potential, but needs some time to develop and lose a bit of the jammyness.

After a double decant and about an hour of air, this one was finally ready to go. I had reviewed a 2014 a little while back to determine that it is NOWHERE ready to go yet. Well? I'm not sure the 2012 really is either, but it is certainly closer than the 14. This wine poured a dark red with some violet notes into the glass. In the nose, this wine is dark black cherry and terroir notes. A little …

Color: ruby red Nose: spice, flowers, red fruit Taste: anise, leather, earth, plum Nice, light California super Tuscan blend. California Sangiovese is smoother, less tannic and easier to drink much younger. Nice lingering finish. Drink now... not sure about aging ability- drinking wonderful right now.

Best CA Sangiovese blend I've ever had - I've said it numerous times - just plain good

These are going down FAST, and just actually starting to come into their element. This wine is filled with raspberry creme brulee, softened acidity on the entry, and a nice medium bodied wine from start to finish. This shows quite a bit of power and resembles a young, budding Brunello. I am not sure that this one has quite the longevity of a Brunello, but it is just about as complicated. Everything from herbal findings of black tea and coriander …

Smooth tannins, hints of cherry, cedar and light smoke. Best CA Sangiovese blend I've had

Smooth Sangiovese. Hints of cherry, cedar and settled tannins make this wine extremely enjoyable.

Cherry up front on the nose and flavors of wood and cherry. Smooth tannins.

Still quite a young wine. Enjoyed pop and pour tonight with dinner after finishing off a Kamen Cab from 2010 Moon Mountain. This wine poured a dusty rose into the glass. There was a lot of black cherry on the nose, and black cherry and rhubarb on the front of the palate. Tamed acidity on the front after 30 minutes. The wine was dark and full in the middle, with a dense middle. The finish is where the acidity came …

Two and half hour decant, every minute of it needed, with a nose of raspberry, rose, tar, chocolate. The palate contained the same elements as the nose with a touch of caramel thrown in. This has the backbone to age, with fresh acidity and firm tannins, another three to five years of cellar time is easily possible and probably warranted.

At the winery, lovely nose of sweet fruit, black currants, more of the same on the palate, 97% Sangiovese and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 978 cases made, lots of hints of sweetness, mouth coating, tasty, touch simple, best in 3 years, medium/big body, tasty and long finish.

Starting to show candy apple and red raspberry notes. This wine was a little more enjoyable than the last one, which was relatively slammed shut. This wine is still shut, yet a little more enjoyable given the other characteristics that have started to form since the last bottle was rated. I think that this one would do beautifully with about 2 hours of air, but it was the lunchtime "snow afternoon" wine after I just missed my flight, so I …

Consumed with dinner. This wine isn't ready yet. Not even close. Has a very dense core, good raspberry/fruit backbone. LOTS of acidity. Moderately tannic. Already twice as good as those $15 budget Sangiovese/"chanti" wines at the store. Going to be a very complex, interlayered wine. Don't understand the "2015-2015" best enjoyed by.....this one has some very solid Sangio backbone that will last MUCH longer than just through this year. Enjoy between 2016-2025. I'm cellaring the other 5 and won't touch …
