Poggio Argentiera Morellino di Scansano Capatosta

Three years ago I said this needed time. It's had time and it's it's really singing today. Immense perfume when it was deranged. In the glass it has a gorgeous deep perfumed black fruit aroma with some warm spices. really good palate. Lovely balance and the tannins noted have now nicely integrated. 95% sangiovese; 5% alicante. The nose has rich red and cherry fruit with sweet toasty oak. Fairly ripe immediately, it opens up and calms down into something more austere. Very dominated by pretty fierce tannins. Very deep and concentrated. Really needs plenty of time. 86-90/100
