Smooth and flavorful. It paired well with balsamic pork chops.

Dark ruby with a slight fade at the rim. Faint nose with restrained fruit, meaty, and some funk to it. On the palate you taste crushed red plums, meat, soy teriyaki, and dried herbs like rosemary and thyme. Very pleasant.

Un nez de cassonade, de fruits confits...impression d'une liqueur aux bleuets, d'épices du chêne et des notes florales. Un vin fruité, sec, mi-corsé, structuré qui donne une impression de rondeur devant plus mince en fin de bouche. Saveurs de fruits noires mûres ainsi que de fleurs sauvages sèches. Very light. Paired with Jett’s pep and sausages. Needed more weight. Smooth like a core du Rhône

Consumed young. However a fine wine with rich dark plum and black cherry. Pencil shavings and leather on a long and robustly tannic finish. Good now will get better undoubtedly. A nice rich example of this blend from Tablas. Stood out compared to all the other vintages I've tried.

2019 vintage

Did a side by side comparison with a 2012 Chateau de la Gardine cuvée des Generations paired with a beef tenderloin dinner. Both were excellent wines with the Chateau de la Gardine exhibiting more earthy tones vs the fruitier Tablas Creek Rhône blend. The Chateauneuf du Pape barely won out.

Very fruit forward for this winery but not flabby. Tasting close to peak right now in my opinion. 1 hour decant.

Another great GSM from TCV. So consistent. Love their thin walled bottles!

Decanted 2 hours prior to serving - some fine sediment. Complex nose if leather, horsehair, spices - Mourvèdre seems to dominate. Very southern Rhone palate - Grenache seems to be a bit more prevalent. Complex finish although after 2+ hours this gets just a little pruney/raisiny on the finish. Some blind tasters thought this was a northern Rhone... Recommend shorter decant/serving if you have any left.

4.5 years after the prior: We thought we had finished these, but found another hidden away. It had a rather bitter and somewhat hot edge when tasted in small pores over the first two nights. But then, over the course of a week under Coravin Pivot, it became more enjoyable and approachable. Nice enough, but no longer our style.

Pnp. Red fruits initially. Transitioned to blackberries and earth with more air time. Medium bodied and somewhat elegant. Took some time for mid-palate body to emerge. Drying tannins and medium length finish. Paired fairly well with a beef stir fry. Should have given a couple hour decant. Holding remaining bottles a couple more years.

A very pleasant red wine, not terribly reminiscent of a Cotes du Rhone red blend. Had I been asked to identify which grapes went into the blend, I might have suggested a GSM blend from the New World, but nothing more specific than that. A very good pizza wine.

2019 vintage

This blend is basically a GSM with a fourth grape added. As GSM’s go, it was very good. Full flavored. Long finish. Smooth. Enjoyed very much. It was very pricey, though.

2018 vintage

Following a 3 hour decant, this wine was excellent and probably close to its peak. Perfectly balanced. All three varietals perfectly integrated. I would drink up.

2012 vintage

Not a huge fan of the GSMs but this one is pretty good. Early fruit evolves into a medium-bodied mellow flavor. Finish was easy, but not very long. Overall, good.

2018 vintage

Well balanced but undistinguished. Red fruit, medium acidity and low tannins. A little licorice and graphite.

2019 vintage

Another top notch TCV GSM. These are always just phenomenal. they get better every year.

2012 vintage

Could even be a 93! Very, very fresh for a near 15 YO wine. What a great example of Paso GSM. TCV just gets better and better year over year.

Tablas self proclaimed flagship wine. While I like this blend, there are others in their portfolio I prefer. Best when aerated for at least 45 minutes. Flavors meld and some tannins soften.

This is a nice red blend. Not too strong. Excellent given the price point and still good the next day.

This was surprisingly smooth for me, with mild tannins, a lot of cherry, strawberry, flavors. Not a ton of complexity but a very enjoyable wine. I was expecting a bit more acidity but I found it very easy to drink without food. Definitely felt like a California Rhone wine.

As some others have noted, this could use more time in the cellar. Upon opening, and even after leaving stoppered overnight in the wine fridge, it comes across as young and vibrant, with a hard edge to it - kind of "angular" at the moment. After vacuum sealing and storing again overnight in the wine fridge, this showed signs of softening and integrating, with detailed flavors and some nice Rhone character. Still at peak and drinking well !! This Rhone blend of 40% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Counoise is delightful. Near perfect cork, easily removed after over a dozen years in the bottle. Medium ruby color with only minor oxidation and good clarity. Consumed this baby Châteauneuf-du-Pape over two days. Best on day one, flavors of dried fruit dominated on day two. Earth and dark red fruit in the nose. Medium/light body; semi translucent. Earthy, slightly gamey dark red fruit with some spice on the back palate. Medium/light acidity on the finish with low tannins. Earthy, tasty fruit.

PnP, but initial taste was tart with low fruit and high acid. So decanted for 15 minutes, but better after 30 minutes. Opened and began drinking right away. Didn't need decanting, ready to drink with some air and swirling. Red cherry, black pepper, slight leather notes. Surprisingly fruit forward with low tannins and nice acidity. Drank well on its own, but could go well with food too. Almost no brett, which was a pleasant surprise after I just had a glass of 2010 at the actual winery. 90 points.

Balanced with complex flavors from the grape blend, full body but not heavy, drank with rack of lamb, 13.5% abv - impressive flavor, developed nicely as we drank it, will drink again.

Right on for a TCV Esprit. Drinking really nicely now. Perfectly balanced/blended. Lovely stuff!
