EVerything you'd want in a well aged Napa (neighbor) Cab. The big black fruits (blackberry, cassis, dark cherry) have settled well into their mid-life and are smooooth both on the nose and palate. There is a hint of vanilla but it sits well in the background (my preference as well). Similarly a bit of tobacco, cedar, dark chocolate and herb on the finish. Tannins and acid are still very present but well integrated giving the wine a med plus body …

Plums, dark cherries, blueberries. Got some rosemary and asparagus on the nose too along with mint. Oak, spice, vanilla and some coconut. Alcohol was a bit overpowering but great wine.

Fruity initial attack although restrained given the age (from looking at the color) Cassis and candy (cherry) on the palate initially. Thinner on the back end with some significant acidity which probably shows the initial lack of heavy oak and tannins I assume.

Consistent with last note in 2021. Brambly black fruit and berries, oak spice and just enough tannins to give it some grip. Velvety smooth finish. Last one. Great value.

PNP - sweet and a little hot smells a little off in a large bdx glass (sour?). Some promising elements of mint, tea with the dark fruit. Will check back in after more time.

Inky, dark crimson color. Blackberry, black currant, dusty baking spices, mocha and mint on the nose and palate. Velvety and fruit-forward on the palate and finish. Tannins fully resolved and compliant, adding just enough grip to remind you they're there. Extraordinary value at purchase ($30); drinks as well as some of the big boys at 5x the price.

I’m not sure if this bottle was flawed but it is pretty much undrinkable. Deep saturated purple almost all the way to the rim. Initial odd woody/cardboardy smell that blew off after a while, leaving behind oak, vanilla and plum on the nose. Sweet and flabby on the palate, with almost no acidity.

Nose of current, spice and coconut. Layers of blackberry, currant, red leather, minerals, and peppery cocoa. Rich finish has vanilla bean, white oak, black plum, current, and rich earth. Tasting perfect!

Not sure about the earlier tasting. Thinking that we may have had a bad bottle. This wine popped with flavor and actually continued to improve. Just goes to show that one bottle can be completely different than another.

Shocked by some of the scores on here, this wine is phenomenal. Paired with a steakhouse dinner, rib-eye, strip, asparagus & hash browns. Drank alongside a 2012 Cakebread Cab and this completely blew it away. Decanted for 45 minutes before drinking and this was strong for 2-3 hours. I would say drink now through the next 2-3 years, it's on point.

This wine is still going strong. Can benefit by a 90 minute decant in order to bring all the fruit out. Hidden Ridge never disappoints.

Deep bouquet of black currants, dark chocolate, pencil lead, and earth. Intense, vibrant, and ripe flavors. Lovely texture, very glyceriny, showing good density and deceptive depth and complexity. Black fruit sweetness is countered by juicy acidity and exotic spices on the long finish. It grows on you the longer it sits. A very confident wine.

Very nice Cab from Sonoma... Dark almost black color, red rim with narrow white circle. After 20 minutes in the glass - opens with black and blue berries and milk chocolate. Tasty and balanced palate with medium and beautiful finish. Very gentle, more on the Bordeaux side, very different from the more aggressive neighboring Napa cabs...
