Aple straw color. Expressive nose of peaches, pear, jasmine. Medium acidity, unctuous almost, lots of white fruits like peach and white cherries and honeysuckle, then some bell pepper notes before buttery oak keeps this together. In a good spot now, clearly new World but not over-extracted.

Nose is nothing too fancy, with the typical California Chardonnay notes of apples and vanilla. The palate is another story though: nice acidity, slightly buttery, notes of raw almonds, apples, pears, then medium long ending with oaky notes. We’ll balanced, very enjoyable, if not terribly complex.

Sometimes you just have to reach for the sky, One Sky Cheesy saying? Yes. Cheesy wine? Nope. 3 years ago I reviewed this wine, I thought it was about time to renew our vows, oops, that for a wedding. Wait, that almost describes my infatuation with this wine. Mountain fruit from cool climates, even organically certified. Does it get any better? Okay, maybe with a real person! But that's not likely, whereas the wine is right in front of me. …

Deep gold color. Lemon curd, orange zest, butterscotch, spiced oak, hazelnuts. Taste is rich and mouthcoating, but also has a zesty acidity that goes into a slightly astringent finish.

Buttery and smooth, citrus on the nose with slight mineral notes. Well crafted. One of those wines that seems to have all the elements but misses...only just

No detailed notes but seemed very bright for a Chardonnay.

Nose of stone fruit, green pear, and gooseberry. Buttery green apple and pear flashes by quickly then dries into a finish that adds oak, bitter lemon, and steel.

If you love full-blown malo, buttery chard, this is for you. Not my style but clearly well made.

Here we are, wrapping up the third and final installment for the Three Sticks Chardonnays for 2017 that have recently been released. I have to say that this was a really fun assignment, self-imposed as it was, to take on three different Chardonnays from the same winery. Like other influences and knowledge building exercises, this one made me do a little head scratching and a little deeper dive into winemaking. Of course, anything that brings me greater insight into this …
