This is a go to wine to serve to company prior to dinner. Light body, a touch on the sweet side, but not overly so.

The first of 5 reds I brought to dinner with 7 old friends, 3 of whom professed to not being wine drinkers, but they loved this. It is still amazingly fresh after 17 years, 14 of which were in my cellar.

Still as good as ever, even on day 2 without being topped with Argon.

Same notes as I made in 8/11 & 3/12: It might possibly be even better because the finish is long and delightful, but I find it hard to score above 92. This was THE quickest wine to disappear at a blind tasting and most were shocked at learning its' origin and price. If this gets any better, it will certainly rate a higher score from me. A screaming deal at $22/delivered.

This continues to be terrific, with impressions the same as 8/11, except it is even smoother on the palate. Drank with an '04 Clarendon Hills Clarendon Grenache at 2x+ the price. Both were great, but the QPR on the Beckmen makes it the winner for me. This was probably a 93+ point wine after being open an hour or so. Other tasters were drinking it fast!

This was outstanding and fooled most if not all attendees at a Sat tasting. While some thought it was a Grenache blend/CdP, nobody guessed Santa Ynez Valley or even CA. Lush fruit and light floral tinge on the nose, with a touch of forest floor. Wonderful fruit on the plate with a really long finish. Glad that I have 10 more.

Why didn't I buy more of this outstanding wine? Red fruit, some floral notes and a little leather on the nose, with explosive red fruit and some spice and pepper in the mouth. Silky feel in the mouth and an extremely long finish.

Notes of candied cherries and quite a lot of oak (toeing the line of overwhelming). Cinnamon and nutmeg. I remember this being better...

Candy city on this wine, very ripe and hot. Absoultely destroyed by the Granacha from Alto Moncayo. Taste OK but very short and simple. Not one to buy again.

juicy, vibrant red fruit, strawberry jam and toast with spicey notes and a lush mouthfeel. Immensely satisfying. The 2 of us downed a bottle in no time.

Medium to full ruby color and an enticing rounded nose of red tart berries accented by raspberry that had some baking spice and ripeness thrown in. Light on the entry, but an almost lush and full fruit grip where the fruit took over and it had just enough of an edge to balance it out...leaving a nice lingering finish. Not a heavy weight...but strong enough to get your attention and hold it.

A beautiful, floral and fruit nose that has banana peel and blueberries just screaming out at you, some soap, and sweet lilacs. Bodyfeel is very nice, rich without being syrupy, and on the palate, blueberry pie filling, leather, and the stems from fruit, where it's mostly the bitterness, but you know that there is fruit underneath. The bitterness is a slight put-off from what would otherwise be an amazing New World wine - perhaps with time this would go away, …
