Possible slight TCA, but aromatics are still very pleasant, bright delicate candied red fruits, floral; firm on the palate, elegant and ripe fruit,

Decanted for a few hours. Softer and less structured than I was expecting (possibly from the 100% de stemmed fruit). Still plenty of density here but nothing like other Altare Cru’s I’ve had. Cherry, blackberry, spice, tar, vanilla, pine resin and mineral. Very polished. This was more expressive on the second day so clearly needs time.

La Festa del Barolo 2023 (The Pool, NYC) : The 2018 Barolo Unoperuno is dusty and floral in the glass, mixing dried strawberries with roses and sweet smoke. This flows across the palate like pure silk, cool-toned and incredibly fresh, with tart wild berry fruits and inner violet florals that cascade throughout. Festa dal barolo AM tasting Lovely florals, roses, pure red fruited spice. this is fruit and floral driven wine. There is some tar, a decent amount o wood spice . It's supple, perfumed and extroverted. Really lovely in its mode. A very pure fruit driven wine that comes across a little too polished for me. Very well done in its style. 92 for me, much more if you happily tolerate wood in nebbiolo
