Far exceeded expectations. Very clean, no serious funk to speak of, but great kirsch, herbes de provence, beef flavors. Not terribly long, but quite smooth, eminently drinkable, and quite delicious. At peak.

Nose was very funky, not quite corked but not very appealing, minor fruit showing through. Should have stopped there. Wine was pretty much gone, very acidic and nasty.

Nose is somewhat offputting, but if you ignore it this is a fine wine. At its peak. Garrigue with spice,meat. For 11 bucks pretty good.

The first bottle of this I had was really nice. Very smooth, varietally (or regionally) correct. This was far less of a wine, harsh and bitter - probably flawed in some way. Day 2 it did mellow some, but still was no better than 84.

Ferrieres: Pure purple; great nose of mushrooms, olives, dust, leather, hi note berries; blkberry, blueberry; med. bod, t’as, med+ a’s; but med fin. Very good. W/pasta.
