Very disappointing, expected better consistency considering the negoc. ( a bottle purchased on release and perfectly stored ) No discernible flaws, just simple and uninspiring. Aromatics improved a tad after an hour but the wine was just not fun to drink. wouldn't have cut it even as a simple Bourgone gave it a few more hrs and it was like flogging a dead horse. Hopefully just an off bottle.

A light and easy-drinking pinot noir. This purchase of 3 bottles reinforces my belief that Louis Jadot is a fairly ho-hum negociant.

Slow o'd 4 hours. The nose has light cherry and rocky minerality. The palate is more of the same, just very light. This is an acceptable and very low-end Burgundy, I was hoping for better when I bought them 8 years ago.

White and Red Burgundy (Scott and Amy's House) : Slow o'd 5 hours, drank a small glass over 30 minutes. This seems a bit young, although it has plenty to enjoy right now. There is plenty of minerality, which I like. I never thought much of Louis Jadot, but the 2 wines we had tonight were solid.

There is a nice tension and vibrancy in this wine. A bit thin and lean for my liking, but it still has the sexiness of Gevrey where old and new world collide. Tart cranberry and pomegranate laced with slight underbrush and mushroom.

Off the wine list. Rose and orange blossom on the nose. A little closed despite 45 mins in glass. Decent structure and acidity were its finer points. Broadly true to regional character, but lacking a wow factor for me. Hold two years for best result

My Grade: EX. Dark,cherry-cola in glass, cherries, strawberries ash, cola and some wet earth and vegetal notes on the nose. On the palate: silky mouth-feel, intense red fruit, great vibrancy and good minerality, fine tannins, jucy acidity, lovely sour cherry/cranberry finish. This is very classy for the price point. A bit early now, should only get better over the next 5-7 years.
