Second time with this and it feels slightly more ready now with a decant or longer prep. Some reduction at the start which blew off quickly. Drank beside a George Noellat Chaumes 2019 which was brighter and higher toned. This Meo was a touch darker and with more oak influence but also drank well. Both will continue to improve and will perhaps peak in 5 years or so

2019 vintage. Had at thanksgiving with turkey in 2025. Decanted 2.5 hours which was a good thing. Cherry notes with slight underpinning of strawberries. Agree with others that there is acidity present and enjoyed more with food.

Light in color, garnet, shiny. Expressive nose. This combines the charm of the 2019 vintage with the structure and spiciness of the NSG terroir and Meo wine making. A very good NSG. Early drinking window, which was confirmed by day two where it added significant complexity with cherry, plum and baking spices.

Meo-Camuzet Domaine visit : Given to us as a blind tasting challenge at the end of the 2023 line-up. I guessed the vintage due to its charm and immediacy. This 2019 Chaumes is all elegance and grace. Delicate red berries, rose petals, and subtle forest floor tones emerge on the nose. The palate is lacy and refined, with the tertiary notes beginning to appear. The ‘19 Aux Murgers is a stunning young wine that was very beautiful already today, but has plenty of stuffing to age well. Vosne Romanee Premier Cru Blind (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA) : Bright reddish purple; young and sweet fruit, spice, driving power, silky and seductively textured but larger than most Burgundy, effusive purple fruit, slightly alcoholic and grapey; shows as a grumpy petulant youngster but time should smooth out some of the edges, would like a touch more focus but maybe I'm picky as this still drank well 3 days later.
