Woodward Canyon, Nelms Road Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington

Typical inexpensive WA cabernet. Over cooked and heavy on palate with little varietal character. Just barely drinkable.

Dark red color, black fruit, spice, tobacco on nose. Blackberry, dark fruit, medium tannins. Pop n pour with aerator.

Good new world fruit, red and some black fruit with chocolate on the finish. Enjoyable.

4300 cases. 92% cabernet sauvignon, 5% cabernet franc, 2% merlot, 1% dolcetto. Second label Cab for Woodward Canyon featuring young vine and declassified fruit. Winemaker Rick Small. Very dark purple in glass, medium opacity. Generous and delicious nose of diried plum, black cherry, vanilla, and herb. Medium bodied and very juicy and fruit forward on the attack.A little hot on the mid-palate but this fades with decant time. Nice long juicy finish of vanilla and kiss of oak with nicely …

A good wine but pretty run of the mill w/tobacco, cherries & pretty nice tannins but just missing that umph.

The nose had lots of black currant and raspberry, slight hints of green vegetables and spice, and some vanilla at the end. The palate had a nice mix of sweet red fruit and vegetables, and finished with a heavy does of oak and spice.
