Still drinking well. Tannins still prominent but soft.

Still holding up but fading a bit. Better and more revealing on day 2. Upon opening this was a bit one dimensional, a bit rough around the edges. Not much fruit but some cedar and forest floor on the palate. 24 hours later, the harshness had disappeared but so had the tannins. Fruit had emerged to replace some of the dusty, forest floor aspects.

Enjoyable wine, but lacking in depth and character, especially from a very good vintage

Deep garnet color. May have been a bit of bricking at the rim but so limited as to be hard to tell. Nose of ripe berry. A little more herbal than expected upon opening but the fruit emerged after an hour or so. Mostly dark fruit, blackberry, cassis on the palate with a bit of spice, olive and mushroom. Full bodied with a long lingering finish. Still something of a tannic backbone to this.

Deep dark center, red rim with some signs of age. Sweet, brambles and briar, ripe with mature red fruit. Smooth, plums and cassis, sweet brambles, black olives, modest tannins, complex, integrated oak, good length. Drinking well now.

Relatively dark, opaque ruby color. Nice bouquet displaying blackcurrent, blackberry, oak and dust. The palate is full bodied, showing more fruit, dark cherry, vanilla and a touch of mocha. Acidity and tannins are well integrated. Medium-long finish. Drinking well now, but structured for aging and improvement over the next few years.

A bit of cedar on the nose, with cherries on the palate. Medium-full moughfeel, with well integrated tannins.

Ruby with hints of orange to the edge. Smelled of currants, leather, flowers, and cherry. The taste was of sour cherries, currents, and briary fruit. The tannins are evident but soft and the finish is nice but not long. A nice aged wine. (Tasted at C.I.A. Napa)

Fun horizontal/vertical tasting of 1988 Bosche and Sycamore side by side with 1992 Bosche and Sycamore. The '88 Sycamore was still in good shape. Surprising considering the '88 was past it's prime. Exhibited the floral nose and raspberry/strawberry overtones expected of Sycamore. Was a bit more refined than the '92 Sycamore...likely a result of the 4 year difference in age.
