Held onto this to see how 5 years of post-release age would affect it. It was very good. Very different than 2-3 years ago. Tannins have softened, fruit is now out in front with faint vanilla and almost a twiggy and herbaceous finish. No alcohol burn present. Almost an oily mouthfeel. Very impressive but not sure if it could go another year.

I think that this win has improved from my last note. It doesn't have that sweet taste that I associate with a cheap Zin. Nicely done.

Wines at Chris and Renee's home. (Chris and Renee's) : A new wine for me. This was very good. In the Joseph Swan vein of Zin. A nice Bordeaux styled nose. Good raspberry fruit. Complex and not over powering. In a nice place.

Ok medium body zin. Spicy great with tacos. Agree closed nose. Paid higher price point than what I would consider again for a zin of this quality.

What graniwinkle said. See her notes for details. Solid value wine with terroir and charactor. Very good value at the $17 I paid for it.

A bit harsh and rough and tumble. Full bodied and modest dark berry flavors. Finish fine but fruit leaves quickly. Drink soon.

Complexity - closed nose. Great initial taste. It doesn't taste like a Zin. It's more complex than that. Texture - smooth, but with some sharp tannins on the finish. Cherry. Mid-palate density - solid Proportion - good long finish. Finesse - ok Balance - I suspect that it will improve

Purple center with red rim. The nose is youthful and direct with blackberry and dark cherry aromas. In the mouth, there is blackberry, peach skin, black cherry, and spice. This wine is medium-bodied with excellent acidity and well integrated tannins. The finish is packed with dark fruit and kiss of spice. Overall, this wine is a well made, medium-bodied wine with dark fruits and balanced acidity. Peterson continue to be one of the best value wineries out there.

Drank with a traditional carne asada with salsa, cojita cheese, and pickled veggies, as well as potato salad on the side. Fantastic pairing. Great with any type of barbeque meat I think.

Oak and spice. A really good wine that really opens up over a few hours of drinking.

A blend of 84% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Syrah and 6% Carignane this wine shows intense blackberry and a touch of cedar wood on the nose. The palate is full bodied with jammy berry fruit, toasty oak and violet.
