This was one of those wines where you say when you open it "Wow, if this continues to improve with air, it will be amazing" only it doesn't. Deep and rich on opening, with air it grew gradually harsher. Still, for the price I paid I won't complain.

Dark purple colored, full bodied, rich and concentrated with forward extracted dark berry and ripe plum fruits with a layer of mineral, hints of smoke and tar and a full long tannin finish.

Not much on the nose upon opening, a little cherry and alcohol. Expected better. This wine had a very tart acidic taste that overcame the fruit and left the mouth dry and puckery. With food it's a little better but I wouldn't be sipping this one on it's own. Disappointing.

Very fruit forward but none the worse for that. Great red fruit profile, with a medium body and a good mid-palate.

Tasted at Jacob's Creek Cellar Door: Sourced from the Barossa Valley this light reg Shiraz was very in-elegant. Some tannine, some fruit, some licorise but all very average.
