Corte Carista Chianti Classico

"2019" Sydney International Wine Show - stewarding notes; 10/7/2018-10/12/2018 (Blue Mountains, NSW) : {diam, 12.5%} Dusty cherry nose. Medium acid, Medium/high gritty but fine tannins. Dry savoury palate but in the end is just light/medium-bodied, with a medium length finish. Cries out for food. Not sure it has the fruit to age terribly long.

Clear medium intensity ruby colour. Light intensity nose with sour red cherry, woody oakiness and hint of smoke. Palate of medium to fine grained dusty tannins, leads with a strong dry character, woody oak with hint of vanilla and burnt toast, subdued fruit with aspects of sour cherry and raspberry, medium body. Overall impression is of a very dry wine with subdued fruit character. Lacks balance and complexity, savoury flavours and tannins leading over all else. Drank with spaghetti bolognese. …
