Still plenty of fruit, but don't sleep on it. The palate is dried fruit, mostly plums and cherries with some dried flowers and dried leaves rounding it out. Don't be put off by the dried leaves aspect. It just reminds me a little of autumn. An excellent match with our Christmas Day standing rib roast.

Lean and firm with a dark, racy berry overtone. It’s true that leaving it air out helps, as previous reviewers have said, given that, after all, it’s a Cab variation. Once you pass the racy berry note, you come upon a more complex, firm, strong note: woodsiness, dark minerals, low down strong fruit. I’m not sure how better to describe it, but the opened-up feel is strong and deep. If you’re looking for the oakiness and domineering touch of CabSav, …

Super surprised that this one held up all these years! Opened it with a bit of air and it blew our minds. Was so good. Nice fruit flavor but not fruity and not bland from over-aging. Delish

Still a bit young but after 2-hr decant the wine really opened up. Taught dark berry notes, forest floor, cherry tart and subtle licorice and vanilla flavors round out the profile. Smooth, creamy finish. Excellent

A simple, basic cab franc. Not bad, not that memorable.

Needs some more time. Nice flavors and tannins, but still tight and will benefit from aging.

Solid cab franc, bright fruit and very aromatic. Smooth with a light tannic finish.

A little thin, but good acidity and flavor profile. Can't wait to try some of the blends it's present in.

It was a little rough on the opening, but this wine really showed off after an hour in the decanter. What it lacked in boldness and complexity it made up for in velvety smoothness with a nice medium plus finish. The color was a deep ruby purple, almost black. This really held its own, I can't wait to see how it does in some of Trefethens 2012 reserve blends.

Really enjoyable. Deep rich complex. A great representation of Cab Franc.

Rich scents of the typical varietal aromas of mesquite wood, cherry and toasted herbs. The fresh and medium-bodied palate is lush with raspberry, Indian spice, tobacco and chocolate highlighted by bright acidity and supple tannins.

Fabulous Franc! More complexity than I normally expect from this grape in a single varietal, very balanced, and a great QPR. Drinking very well now.
