A private dinner (Bistro De Ruif, Bosch en Duin, Netherlands) : A 10 ha property, planted with Merlot (70%), Cabernet-Sauvignon (20%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). Usually of middling quality, it has made the most of the rich offerings of the 2009 vintage. A medium-sized wine, well-balanced, with an attractive stuffing of ripe fruit (black cherry), a creamy texture, lovely freshness and minerality, with a pleasing hint of the farmyard.
