My last. 2hr decant. Ripe viscous plum fruit, hints of truffle and earth and uber smooth tannins. Almost jammy with just enough acidity to bring some balance. Very enjoyable with red meat and strong cheeses, but based on this bottle (and bottle variance) for drinking up.

As per my most recent note.

Decanted for 90 minutes. I am beginning to think that I am getting bottle variance with this wine. This one was excellent and far less mature than either my earlier notes. Concentrated floral black cherry fruit core, almost spirity viscosity with über velvety tannins, integrated charred oak and a dry/bitter finish for balance. Good complexity and, unlike my earlier bottles, with a further 2-3yr future at this level. Two more to go.

Previous note applies, but definitely in decline. None the less will seek out a (much) more recent vintage to see if this wine has developed with experience. Drink up.

A perfect Nebbiolo in miniature. Decanted 3 hours before drinking, unintentional, but when relations visit.... Remarkably mature looking. Clear edges and tendency towards bricking. Nose of cherry and toasted curry spices. Flavour of juicy cooked plum, sour cherry core and slightly furry but integrated tannic grip. Good race. Medium bodied but with good length. I suspect that this a wine style in development ?young vines ?experimental variety. Will seek out more recent vintages to see if concentration levels take this …

I had a modest 5 - 7 year window on this one as I didn't have a feel for the producer tracker record and, for the most part, local neb doesn't repay extended cellaring with the exceptions from the likes of Pizzini and Arrivo. Anyway, no need for any fears here whatsoever. Pours well; dirty blood red that lightens at the rime, but the nose is simply and almost points to low end cherry accented pinot. Palate and structure is …
