Noted on Day 3 14 year old wine still alive and composed on day 3 Although slightly reticent on the nose, the dusty black fruits and herbal notes show up clearly. Soft entry on the palate, balanced with great acid and integrated tannins. There is such grip, punchy dark fruits, and herbal notes in such great harmony. It’s hard to believe that this Syrah is 14 years old. While not as boisterous as it was in its youth, there is …

Zalto Burgundy glass over two days- recorked without gas. This wine is at the tail end of its primary window and just starting to gain some nice tertiary aromas and flavors. Day one and the wine was plenty fresh and primary, though today on day two and the primary notes start to be subsumed by the tertiary characteristics. Aromas of tarragon and tomatoes lay over plums and blackberries. The palate is rich and spicy, with dark fruits, tarragon and spice …

PnP, consumed over three nights. Best showing was on night three; on initial pour, this bottle was tannic and disjointed. With air, it really pulled together and turned into something nice. Significant sediment, so either decant or pour carefully.

Decanted for 1 hour. Dark crimson color. Nose of spicy blackberry and black cherry aromas with a bit of toasty oak and pepper. Similar flavors on the palate with a full bodied mouthfeel and very good dark fruit core. Medium acid and tannin. Creamy texture on the finish, mostly from the oak. Very well integrated and drinking great right now. Paired perfectly with a roast lamb saddle.

Not an in your face, fruit forward, syrah, but has structure and layers completing the dark fruit flavors. Add a little earth, a little tar, a little dark and brooding and a long finish and you pretty much sum up this still very fresh tasting wine,

Ran through the Menu aerating decanter and then back into the bottle. Great nose of black fruit, olive, cracked pepper. Crisp acidity, creamy mouthfeel, and flavors of black cherry, plum and dark chocolate. Touches of espresso and cherry pie on the back. So well-made, and absolutely delicious. Wish I had more...drink now with air - 2025.

Uncorked about 2 hrs before drinking. While initially pleasant, mid-way into my second glass I starting getting a very strong acidic bite on the finish. Was drinking it without food, so maybe it really needs food to show best. Will try the rest tonight to see how it shows.

Deep purple in color. Red and blue fruit and pepper on the nose. Flavors of raspberry, mint and smoked meat. Fine tannins and long finish. This was lovely and wowed the table at dinner. Unfortunately, I am down to my last bottle.

Deep purple in color. Red and blue fruit and pepper on the nose. Flavors of blackberry, raspberry, thyme and mint. Silky mouthfeel. Much better on day 3, which suggests this has a long life ahead of it and will improve with aging.

Still somewhat tannic and could (I hope) benefit from a little more age. I think it'll take on depth and complexity, which is what it lacked on this showing. Nice, typical Syrah flavors, but mostly fruit and tannin, not much meat / earth / funk. Hold.

Very tight and closed on day one, even with 2 hours in a decanter. Some clean fruit and pepper flavors, acid and tightly wound tannin. Day two, opened up quite a bit revealing blue fruits, baking spices, brown sugar, and black pepper. A better look at what this wine will become in years to come. Way too young currently. I will give a minimum of two years before opening the next one.

Decanted two hours prior to tasting. I have not experienced many Washington state wines, but I found this one to be very enjoyable. It felt like a blend of new and old world with sweet dark berry fruit enmeshed with terroir flavors of meat, scorched earth, and something akin to juniper. Nicely balanced and light on its feet, it certainly coaxes me to taste more from this winery.
