Virtual Thisledown - International Grenache Day; 9/18/2021-9/23/2021 : Cherry, blueberry and herbs on the nose. I like the palate composition, has a good mix of cool acid drive over the top of the sweet red fruit, with a layer of spice to give it some interest. Solid all around wine.

15% Light youthful ruby Very charming nose - unusually so for grenache. Raspberry, cherry and blueberry fruit. Warm and nicely scented. Soft fruity attack. Lots of bright red fruit. But it also has a lovely balance. Remarkably elegant with a good freshness and lightness. Almost seems like a pinot noir, albeit a new world pinot, rather than a grenache. Really interesting flavours. Very attractive. I'm surprised by just how unusually attractive and delicious this is.

Starts with raspberries and cranberries, and finishes with cherry liquor with a hint of chocolate. Definitely on the lighter side on both color and body, and the fruity sweetness is offset by acidity which might be a little too much for some people. Overall, a really nice quaffer that is both fruity and fresh.
