Hightower Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon

Still some sweet mocha on the nose, but lots of cassis and spice dominates in the mouth. Tannins and spice on the long finish backed up by nice acidity.

Currant, black fruit, some anise on the finish. Overall came across as a well-made wine, smooth, easy to drink. What's not to like? Seemed in its prime, but think there is no hurry. Will extend out my drinking window for the second bottle.

Soft and well balanced. This is a ripe, flavourful and polished cab. Not overly intense, lacking a little on the nose, but this is a smooth and delicious wine, slightly oaky, bit nice ripe currant and black cherry fruit. The remaining 1/2 of the bottle did not fare vert well - this basically fell apart and was not worth drinking with a meal. Would have downgraded to 85

Surprisingly rich while remaining relatively balanced. This isn't a fruit bomb, but it is a bit bigger wine than the Washington profile I have in my head. Initially a bit of green on the palate...not quite bell pepper, but a green I can't quite place. With time, this evaporates and seems to become more of a licorice highlight to an otherwise fairly dark fruit profile. Modest tannins on the finish. - Ruby color with slow forming legs and aromas of rose. It's balanced and has flavours of smokey, almond and dusty with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.
