Delicious rich dark cherry, blackberries, pepper, and floral notes on the fragrant nose and smooth layered palate with a long killer finish.

This clear and deep red wine was poured after 30 minutes of decanting. With a strong amount of dark berries on the nose and in the glass, this wine had a perfect amount of pepper and ground spices as well. The tannins and acidity have settled down to a lovely balance and the finish on each sip was very long. This bottle showed exceptionally well tonight.

Absolutely ripping. Drank after a northern Rhône night to finish the night and stylistic contrast was awesome.

Ripe fruits like e.g. cherries, supple and concentrated. Round and lovely acidity. Truly great wine. Still plenty of future, but already really delicious.

Still full of lush ripe heavy dark fruits, little minerality, smooth (nonexistent?) tannins and a sweet long smooth finish. Came in a close second to a wine that cost 1/5th as much. (See my same day review of the Renaissance Yuba Syrah). A great wine to sit around and sip with your wine friends who appreciate the cost of this bottle. Don't bother to open it for unappreciative rabble.

Decanted 1-2 hrs and drank over the course of the evening. Best bottle of 3. Great nose, tannins resolved yet fruit has faded and acidity is unbalancing. Maybe past its prime.

Another great performance from SQN. Pure Syrah reminiscent of ASITD, although maybe not delivering at that level, but still extraordinary. Black pepper, smoky meat, bramble, an abundance of dark fruit and great concentration. Will definitely seek out more bottles.

Flat , harsh , no fruit - old decades fruit if any ! Negative Covid test but no positive s ! Bottle 1 of 3 was off? We shall see!

2012 Syrah drinking amazing…liqueured dark wild berry fruits, white pepper spice, au jus, violet florals…massive beast yet balanced… absolutely perfect with French Onion Soup and Beef Wellington! Tons of sediment so decant next time.

This clear and deep purple wine was enjoyed at a local restaurant and enjoyed with minimal decanting. The wine had a nose of dark cherries, some white pepper and some ground spices. The flavours were exactly as the nose and the tannins and acidity were slightly above a medium level. This wine had a very long finish to each sip and this was certainly one of my wines of the year so far.

Dark fruit and smoke meat as others have observed. A little more full-bodied than I expected. Not like the Pinot feel I was expecting, but I liked it. Very good wine, not amazing.

Hot at first but settles after an hour decanting. Nice balance but juicier and more ripe than current bottlings. Blackberry, plum, mint, black tea, vanilla, smoke and herbs. Easily full bodied and almost tipping the scales as too heavy. Overall very good but not a total show stopper.

The nose on this was amazing. Black Cherry, leather, smoked meats, vanilla. Long long finish, just lingers. Dark plum on the finish. Decanted for 3 hrs. Very well rounded and balanced but could use 5 more yrs imo. Tannins we’re still quite heavy. If opening soon, decant for more time than I did. Enjoyed with filet tips, lamb chop and homemade pasta with spicy marinara. Have a couple more bottles of this to try in 5+ yrs. great juice but …

Decanted 2 hours before tasting. My first bottle. 93% Syrah, 5% Petite Sirah, and 2% co-fermented Viognier. We drank this alongside the 2008 Sine Qua Non Syrah B 20. Inky purple color. Sweet red currants with tar, dark black fruit and garrigue. Firm tannins and still quite young. This was a big full bodied wine with a long finish. 95 points.

Popped and let sit for 45min or so, tasted recorked and had with steaks 8 hours later. Amazing acidity and balance. A great wine and accompaniment to rich fatty steaks

The curse of a 100 pt wine is expectations. In short, this wine is delicious and memorable. Brought to a restaurant so was not able to decant in advance. Opened up after about 1 hour. Wish I had decanted for several hours.

The first indoor gathering since Covid (Clarity - Vienna, Virginia) : Explosive primary nose displaying blackberry liqueur, blueberry pie, creme de cassis, ink, dark caramel, lavender, baking spices, steel and crushed rock. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of unbelievably concentrated black and blue fruit, unctuous, rich, deeply toned and round, medium acidity, strong mineral and a long intense black fruit driven finish with liquid smoke, ink and lavender at the end. 94, but with lots of upside. Opened 6 hours before dinner, the greatest evolution probably took place between hours 6-8, so I'd definitely give this more time the next time. Early in the day it was all rich dark fruits (berries, plum) but as time went on it became much more savory, with spices and meaty aromas and much more.

This was poured at home using the Corvin. The wine was clear and deep purple in colour with a bouquet that was dominated by bacon mixed with dark berries and some vanilla. In the glass was a wine with flavours of dark berries, some ripe cherries and a bit of dark chocolate. The tannins were at a medium level and the acidity was quite strong. This bottle was amazing tonight.

This was poured at home 30 minutes after opening. It was clear and mid deep purple in colour with a nose that was predominantly cherries with a bit of iodine at the end. In the glass was a lovely wine that was full of ripe cherries and some blackberries. The long finish had a bit of oak at the end that blended nicely with some black pepper. Both the tannins and acidity were perfect for my palate.
