Pressed by Palmina Pinot Noir Quinta del Mar

Big fruit on the nose with notes of cherry and peppermint. Medium light body with a tangy favor of cranberry, strawberry and dark cherry on the palate. Not much of a finish and not terribly complex, but satisfying nonetheless.

While this has distinct varietal character, I can see why Clifton/Palmina positioned this under a 2nd label. The alcohol and ripeness give a kirsch-like fruit character, yet the acidity is noticeably high. This is entirely an upfront wine without much depth, structure or finish.

Medium ruby with aromas of macerated cherries and raspberries, hints of fresh herbs sage and a menthol note. Palate has a nice balance of fruit and acidity, red fruits, with spicy overtones and a cola note on the finish.
