Almost flawed. Getting a bit old. Not sure how well it was stored. But there were memories of fruit, minor aldehydes.

This seems like a different wine to any ive tried before. Much much better. No hint of oxidation, intense black fruit, soft but intense, good balance and structure. Excellent

This wine has held up over the years. A deep red color with some slight bricking towards the edges. Great sweet smokey/fruity nose of tobacco, cherries and some menthol. Slightly jammy on the palate with silky tannins. I could see this drinking well into 2015.

Bouquet again had a whiff of oxidisation. Hardly perceptible on the taste it seemed to blow off after a while, but for Elderton this is very disappointing

This is a strange wine. Big Dark Inky colour, looks like still a young wine with no hint of age. Something not quite right about the bouquet, blackcurrant up front, but a slight hint of oxidation and something a little bit cardboard, not corked but some other fault ? The wine was surprisingly drinking very well, wiith big dark fruits, firm tannins, good structure and long fruit driven flavours. I actually enjoyed drinking this wine, but not smelling it ! …

bright purple, slight bricking at edge. Bouquet; sweet red fruits, plum, cherry, trobacco, mint. Taste; very fruit driven, blackcurrant jam, soft tannins, hint of pepper, long flavour, drinking well now, didnt seem, to have the problems of the last 2 bottles which tasted oxidised,. Drink Up - 2010. 89 pts

Had a bottle of this about 2 months ago and found the it was rich smooth and tasty initially but unfortunately let down rather badly by a strong bitterness in the aftertatse. Would have rated it 92 points otherwise.

This smelt andd tasted oxidised. Im not sure what has gone wrong here, as its been kept carefully. Is it just too old ?

Bright purple, inky black colour. Strong bouquet, big fruit blackcurrant up front, liquorice, vanilla. Taste: slightly oxidixsed, full on intense black fruit, blackcurrant, prunes, soft velvety, port like, sweet long finish, slightly overcooked, lots of flavour and big alcohol feel. This is past its best time to drink up.
