Cameron Hughes Zinfandel Lot 114

Had it over several days, first with a meal of Italian sausage and mushrooms with pasta. Surprisingly light and lean but with a characteristic spicy zip. A good light-bodied daily drinker without much aging potential. Drink up.

Too sweet. My wife and I both agree on this one. We're going to use it for Sangria because it is not drinakable straight as a Zin.

Balanced food friendly wine. Bramble berries

Faint aroma of cassis and berry aromas. Palate is unusually restrained for a zinfandel, with cinnamon, berry, and a bit of bramble. I really liked this wine, though it will probably leave most modern zin lovers cold. Nice fruit, modest alcohol, with good balance and structure. Good alone but didn't go well with Cuban rice dish. Try again with different food or alone.

This bottle was weak, thin, just there. Little intensity, no structure.

Smooth, lighter, fruity zin. Almost Pinot like. No pepper/spice. Super easy drinker

Decanted approximately two hours (probably shouldn't have as it only got worse with time) ... Deep ruby color, light and somewhat fruity with a nose that promises far more than the wine can deliver. Little or no spice (a classic Cali Zin element for me), and short finish. Unbalanced and sour with too much acid and alcohol aftertaste (even though the ABV is very low for Zin). Down the drain this one went! Bad bottle or cheap plonk?

Big, fruit forward and ready to drink

Opened dusty/smoky. Delicious on day two. Still a bit spicy, but delicious fruitiness with smooth tannins.

Very easy drinking. Fruit forward, ready to pop and pour. Typical great value from CH at around $11. Paired it with BBQ and it was great. Probably don't want to have this with lighter food.
