Bernardus Winery Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands

In a heavy, Syrah-like style, and running low on acid. No flaws per se, but stylistically boring.

Well made wine, cherries, red fruit, good structure, not delicate, a little heat, nice example of a California Pinot, decent finish, good complexity.

Medium ruby. The nose is medium intensity with red cherries, red currants, some dried red fruit, some floral, perhaps faint elderberry. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acidity, medium fine tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body and medium plus finish. Palate demonstrates fresh and dried red fruits- cherries, currants, some vanilla, toast, coffee, dried earth, and baking spices.
