Popped and poured. Tasted last week and forgot to post. From memory: inky, rich, round, dense blackberry fruit, lightly briary. Has softened nicely. Drinkability report suggests this year is the end of the window. The wine does appear to be at its peak. Very enjoyable, I would not wait any longer.

Very focused and tight, intense blackberry fruit with briary flavors, not as round, open and smooth as Stolpman

Deep ruby red color, long finish, softness which says to me it has some viognier in it. More like cote rotie than hermitage. Most rhone like syrah I have tasted fron America. Second night. Wine got more mellow. Lower alcohol show up. Edge went away. I think that in 5 years, this wine could be mistaken for a cote rotie of the same age. In the low alcohol vintages, the cooler vintages, they will make very good syrah's.
