Dark berries and sweet spices in the bouquet, coffee and soft power as well. On the palate dark berries, juicy acidity, balsamic impressions, coffee and caramel, good acidity and soft tannin. Great length.

Translucent ruby colour indicated the Grenache in the wine. Extract detectable in the tear drops. Interesting notes of redcurrant and cherries. The smell resonates a sweeter aroma and indicates us in the direction of a certain sweet spice. In the mouth, medium-bodied, with quite a lot of tannin, but generally pretty balanced. Fruit in the mouth is detectable and it opens up the longer you leave it. It is not a full fruit-filled taste per-say, but it combines really nice …

Perfect time to drink this wine even though it has more years left in it. Plums and black cherries lead with a hint of sweet leather. Tannins are refined, density good, lovely bottle of wine.

Medium to pronounced nose of red berries, mostly red currant and cherries. Faint hint of liquorice. On the palate same red fruit and some quite powerful tannins, almost reminding of a light Barolo but without the violets obviously. It will need 2-5 years more to peak. Looking forward…

Forgot I had tried this before. Same impressions as before. Some Priorat typicity but not standout.

This is made in a fresh, relatively fruit forward, early drinking style and makes for a good pop and pour. That’s how we served it - chilled a bit, popped it, poured in a decanter, served. Fermented in stainless and aged in 2nd use barriques, the oak is mellow, the fruit is lush and the tannins are already quite soft. It’ll probably stitch together a bit more with some age, but it’s delicious now.

Medium to pronounced nose of mostly red fruits and a slight hint of blond tobacco leaf. Already soft tannins, which is a bit surprising as it feels like the wine is still closed and need quite a few years to (hopefully) develop more complex notes. Good minerality and medium length. Probably need 4-5 years more to develop.

EEE February 2022; Priorat (By AR @ Keet) : In the bouquet red and dark berries like blackberries. Cherries, coffee, chocolate and some band-aid and sweet spices. On the palate ripe berries, sweet spices, medicine and fresh acidity. The tannin still has a pleasant bite. Beautiful and complex wine.

I try these ever hopeful a current vintage will recapture the magic of 2015 Les Crestes. This is the best effort since then but still not its equal. Acidic with a pronounced llicorella twang, simple and light mouthfeel, with some spice and secondary aromas after some time in the glass. Not bad.

The blend is 80% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 10% Syrah. The vines are planted on slopes with slate soil (called llicorella here in Priorat). The color is dark red with very strong purple reflections. The nose, already nicely expressive, takes me totally to the south: compote of strawberries, tart cherries, blood orange and sweet spices (mainly cinnamon). On the palate, the body is medium. The tannins are very fine but provide all the same a nice interesting grip. There are …

Clean, med ruby trending to purple. On the nose black plum, red plum, slight raisen, cherry cola, smoke, vanilla and earth/savory. On the palate, med (+) acidity and med (+) fine, ripe tannins. Fruit is there but structure is front and center. Med finish. Good wine.

Intense ruby red in the glass. Aromas of black fruit, cassis, super precise and pure on the nose. The palate explodes with tart red fruit, bright acidity keeps this ultra fresh. Tannins are lightly grippy and indicate a long life ahead. Looking forward to enjoying this after at least a 2 hour decant.

SAQ N° 11458252 Bouchon sec difficile à extirper. Prochaine fois: bilame. **1/2

Double decanted; very light sediment. Notes from day two. Bright ruby color. Lovely nose of raspberry, oak, leather and minerals. Full-bodied, somewhat jammy red fruit on the palate with ample structure. Finishes medium-to-long with a hint of pepper and a bit of heat. Should drink well for another five years or so, but it may not further improve.

Drank over two days. Not much improvement over that time. Disappointing considering the price point. I've had this vintage several times now and it's been consistently average. Nothing really stands out. Yes it is balanced well, but not great.

Still quite aromatic, with some unusual wild grasses notes mixed with a hint of oak and a touch of black raspberry. A full bodied though monolithic wine, almost liquor like in the mouth; somewhat hot, finishing with a palpable afterglow in the back of the throat. Grenache is more discernible now, slowly unfolding, yet still mineral and neither cloying nor too sweet. Would try this again in a few years, as it seems the concentrated fruit is just beginning to …

I'm not sold on this wine. Its a good solid wine with lots of dark fruit, oak notes, some floral and spice notes. The palate is full on, but still has some balance and is tasty, but I don't know that I would ever be able to pick this out as a Spanish wine. A bit too modern and similar to a Napa cabernet for me to want to get any more.

The 2007 takes the intensity of Priorat and balances it perfectly with a nose of ripe blackberry, raisin, dark floral tones, tobacco and herbal lift. On the palate, I found silky textures on a mid-weight frame with notes of wild berry, dark chocolate, herbs and hints of tannin tugging at the palate. This was balanced throughout and finished on focused fruit intensity. The 2007 should enjoy a long drinking window and improve for over a decade in the cellar. I …

Almost one year since last tasted. Had this blind again, but did not manage to nail it. Even thought a year has passed, this still shows the same profile on the nose, with glue, acetone, some rubber and plastic, mint/menthol and traces of alcohol. On the palate there is notable alcohol/heat, an pretty much the same sweet fruit profile as when last tasted, with soft tannins. I would have guessed & expected that this should have settled a bit since …

The new basic cuvée of the Mas Doix estate (first vintage), a super elegant and utterly enjoyable wine, a blend of 80 % Garnatxa, 10 % Carinyena and 10 % Syrah, from the steep, slate dominated “Les Crestes”-vineyard (the “Mountain ridges”) in Poboleda. The wine spent 10 months in French barriques. Decanted one hour in advance. Deep purple-red colored wine with a lovely bouquet of red berry fruit, cassis, licorice and violets. Dense, full-bodied palate, plenty of concentrated red fruit, …

Coupage of 80% grenache, 10% carinyena and 10% syrah. The vineyards are located to an altitude between the 350 and 400 meters on the sea level , on pronounced slopes with pending and grounds characteristic of licorella. A third of the grapes comes from vines of more than 50 years and the rest of vineyards with an average of 15 years of age.
