This wine was really loaded. had everything one would want in an expensive cabernet. Concentrated and intense it was q pleasant experience sharing this with a Thoma delmonico.

A few years since my last bottle, this is developing nicely. Likely in or near its prime. A full bodied wine with nice balance. No need to keep holding but these will hold for another decade with ease.

Dark ruby. Strong aromas of barnyard, tobacco and a touch of sulfur. Potent acidity. Typical Melka velvetiness. Sort of thin on the pallete. Tannin structure has fallen and drying tannins remain. Flavors of black cherry, lime zest and blackberry. Lingering acidity on the finish. Decanted 30 minutes. Needed to open.

Dark purple color. Earthy, dark fruit on the nose. Aerated and started decenter, but very smooth from pop & pour. Bold, balanced acid and tannins. Nice earthy (and slight pepper) finish. (4-13-17-8)

A bit ‘blah’. Just lot of big mouth but no real complexity. Tannins could still use some work. Worth waiting a few years.

It’s been about 1 1/2 yrs since last popped, and what a difference that time in bottle revealed. Was much less bright red fruit dominated, and was actually a nice blend of red, blue and black fruit commingled with some nice mild spice and completely integrated oak. Thought it a 92+, but gave it the extra nod up as it held consistently during the 5 hours open....My only complaint would have been the finish was a bit shorter than I …

Agree with the last few notes. This is in a really great place. Only issue was that this threw off a ton of sediment. But if you have a few bottles, open one now. Great value for $80~ at TW.

Consistent to last note, dark red and blue fruits, love the intensity, sweet spice (5 spice?), licorice, anise, cinnamon, violets, great texture and balance. Drinking very well right now, but will probably get better with a few years.

Six hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Cinnamon, cherry Jolly Rancher, and chocolate malt balls on the somewhat subdued nose. Satiny, tongue drying palate. Firm, full, grippy tannins on the medium long finish. Very nice, but a bit more austere for its age than I like.

Blackberries and tobacco on the nose. (Three words) De lic ious Well it is only one word, but, it smells so good it should be three. Dark cherries, baking spices and forest floor with smooth tannins. Nice long lingering finish. I am thinking I will see how my last bottle develops in 3-5 years.

Very bold when I first opened it, tasted the end pour with lots of sediment. A great opening act. Decanted for about 45 minutes and eaten with steak, root vegetables and tasted wonderful with heavy fruit notes, but not overly sweet. Would have loved to have a second bottle to open in 10 years!

Popped for a T-Day leftovers party with lots of other wines to sample, so no formal notes. Do have to say that tried it upon initial uncorking, and seemed to have more concentrated fruit profile than I remembered from the past. Seemed a bit disjointed and not sure if in a phase or just starting its decline. Was very heavy on the red fruits, and seemed to be a bit singular and not much excitement with secondary layers. Did have …

Loved this wine when I first tasted, and still think it is a solid bottle. Mostly Dark Red and a little black fruits, this wine showed very well from the initial Pop at the restaurant. The bottle definitely opened significantly over the dinner, and showed a little sign of aging in color however no signs elsewhere. Would classify it as a medium body, with a good entry, medium mid, however a shorter than anticipated finish. Not sure if the bottle …

Please note I use a different scale: 82-85-88, different grades of "very good" would buy again 92-95-98, different grades of "stellar" gems of the collection 7/24/17 - Coravin taste. Reminded me of one of my favorite cabs, Jordan, from 10 years ago. Smoky, dark fruit, nice tannin balance. This is a Cab you can count on. Nice that it was ready to drink without the ritual of decanting for 4-8 hours.

Pop and pour. Same notes as before re: gummy cork upon opening. Don't let it scare you off; just run through a Vinturi. I think I finally have a grip on what this wine is for me: a cocktail wine. Which I like, in the right setting. Opens right up for business, plush mouthfeel, plush fruit, maybe a tick of sweetness for a round finish. This was more in line with previous tastings for me; prior experience (89) was the …

Same notes a before re: "gummy" cork. Unfortunately, this his me with more oak that I expected or liked on this opening. Had a hard time getting past it. Not just the taste, the texture too. Maybe bottle variation. Not awful, just not in the same league with prior tastings.

Fabulous rich dark black fruits. Coaxed in new French oak, boysenberry stands front and center. Licorice and cinnamon coexists nicely. Well balanced BIG Napa red with tannins that are tamed by the soft Merlot nuance. The rich fruits and tannins will balance nicely over time.

Massive modern-style Napa cabernet. This bottle obviously needs air or, better, to lie down for a few years. Maybe a bit heavy handed with the oak, but with air and food, this was a great bottle to end the evening with. Big, almost heavy fruit, dense.

Quite decent but not exceptionally distinct Napa Valley Cabernet, good dark color and some ripe fruit flavors mildly accented by the barrel. The balance is good but there is a slight RS and the mouth is soft and accessible with only a mild tannic note in the finish. Not one I would age much more than a few years. Like all NV wines overpriced, but quite nice if you aren't paying.

Popped and this had a bit of a "gummy" residue on the bottom of the cork. Ran it through a Vinturi into decanter. Just a smidge of sediment in the filter. Nothing wrong with the nose. Gave it about 2 hours in decanter. This is a luscious wine. The mothfeel is incredibly velvety. Medium finish that is also very smooth. Held up well to grilled ribeyes. I keep going back to the body of this wine - pretty special in …
