Catherine et Claude Maréchal Pommard La Chanière

2/6, good cork. Served at c15C. Medium ruby/garnet core, pale rim. On the nose this shows dark cherry fruit, Touch of meat and liquorice. Medium/full, attractive black cherry fruit, some plum, there is richness here despite the vintage, more fruity on the palate than the nose but there are also some smoke and liquorice notes, fine if still lightly firm tannins, then lovely fresh/vibrant acidity carries a good length lightly grippy finish. Drinking now but I’d say pretty ageworthy too …

1/6, good cork. Medium ruby core, pale ruby rim. Corked!

Pretty up front, pretty solid down back. Red fruited and chalky. Needs time.
