Jeremy's German Riesling Dinner #2 - Table 1 (The Laundry, Brixton, London) : Freeze dried raspberry, Cox apple core and mango peelings on the nose here. Palate opens up with some crème pat, mint and Tarte Tatin. The mid palate sees some some tart apricot kernel with some white flowers in the margins. On the finish the more pronounced note is lime jelly. Fascinating and lovely wine.

Very light yellow green. Light-medium apple, pear, slate, honey on the nose. Silky palette, lightly sweet, mineral, peach, balanced, medium length. Overall, a little underwhelming for JJ Prum.

Faintest whiff of petrol on the nose followed by an interesting mix of dry mouthfeel with sweet taste. Not a whole lot of complexity showing despite the age. I think what was a downer for me was that the wine was served along with two courses that I couldn't help but feel a dry riesling would've been far better for.

NYE Vino Fest (Atlanta, GA) : Tasted at the annual 2023 New Years Eve Vino Fest in Atlanta. BYOB and guests were encouraged to bring wines with years ending with a 3. No formal notes, just scores. Magnum. Medium yellow. Honeysuckle and citrus. Light weight. Off dry, succulent fresh fruit, sound acidity, and plenty of finishing slate. Very good.

Delicious. Light but intense - juicy with apple and lime fruit, loads of complexity - notes of petrol, apple pie. Really excellent wine.

Peach and lime. Couldn't detect any kerosene notes and I thought it lacked a bit of acidity. Much as I love aged German Riesling, I preferred this more in its youth.

In its drinking window now as a refreshing accompaniment to dinner (somewhat spicy Vietnamese-style roast pork in lettuce wraps) or on its own. In this vintage I think a wine to enjoy now or in the next few years rather than expect future glory.

Light gold. A touch of lit match reduction then pineapple, peach, lemon, turkish delight and quince paste. No kerosene note although bottle consumed over a day and night. On opening a little spritz. Lunch at Windsor Arms. Light golden colour. Light body. 9% abv. Ripe, lively fruit, quite fresh and bright with nice acidity. Overall dry with some residual sweetness. Richer compared to the 2009 tasted before, which was lean in comparison.

Light gold color, just a tiny bit of a dull haze. Strong aromatics that jump from the bottle and wine glass. Pink grapefruit and quince, jasmine, a touch of oil but it isn't diesel or petrol in any way - more like a light lubricant. Fabulous. Very subtle spritz in the Prum style. Slightly sweet, but complex tropical fruit nose. No TDN or reduction to speak of. From magnum.

While this is still a bit young, it is just a classic Prum excellent, balanced kabinett. It still speaks in some sweet tones that will dissipate in the next 3-5 years. Bu the Wehlener elegance, the soft tropical fruit overtones, lemon, quince, a hint of apricot and that wonderful Prum balance made for a nice afternoon treat.

Opened on Christmas day for Tom's girlfriend. She only had a small glass and the rest was sipped over the next TWO weeks. Yes, this one will age for a long time. Good stuff.
