This was a pretty wine. A more elegant style, with nice acidity, fruit, and tannin. It was a little better with some food and a bit better on the second day but not overly different. Not your typical Napa Valley cab with big fruit and big tannin. Not our favorite style but very nice and great if you like this style.

Gave it a one-hour decant. Notes of cedar and blackberry, with noticeable acidity. Pleasant, but seems a bit pricey for the quality. Napa prices, I guess.

Enjoyed a bottle at Craft House in Solvang. This got a quick decant and probably could have benefited from a longer own, but even an hour of air and swirling helped open this up. I recently tasted this at the winery, but this bottle was a lot better than what I tasted there. Dark fruit, with dark cherry, dark plum, blackberry. Some rosemary notes as well. Drinking beautifully already, but also will benefit with time in the bottle. I would …

Incredible wine. A very structured med tannin wine. Agree with the drinking window. Great within the next 10 years. Cheers

Inky in color with a short purple rim. Strong nose of black fruits with chocolate notes, cedar, vanilla and cola. Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs. Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, cola, coffee, black pepper, dried figs, graphite, light earth, herbs and spices. Long spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries. This 6 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville is drinking beautifully now. Big and bold. Rich and …

Napa Daytrip, Feb 2025: Joseph Phelps, Chimney Rock, Faust (Napa) : Tasted at the winery. Notes of cherry and blueberry. Had a tiny bit of brett on the nose, unsure if that's bottle variation, but stopped this from scoring higher. 89 points.

This is a really big wine just entering its drinking window. Good fruit but not overwhelming. Solid mid palate and smooth finish. Decanted for 30 minutes but should have waited longer. Definitely enjoyable with or without food.

Dark purple in color. Notes of cocoa, raspberry, and cinnamon. A big wine, but still great as a PnP. Should be even better in a few years.

Pretty color of dark ruby with a nice reddish rim. Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity. Showing black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, bell pepper, tobacco leaf, earth, dark coffee, chocolates, peppercorn, herbs and black tea. This 4 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking nicely, but still very young. Showing lots of vegetable and earth notes, which I did not expect. Needs at least 5 years in the bottle to mature properly, and still a little …

I am really starting to like the 2019s, this is another classic with dark black and blue fruit, star anise, crushed dark florals, black pepper. This was full bodied and powerful with dark lush fruit and savoury spices that initially filled the palate, this along with big yet structured tannins, and a wonderful minerality on the mid-palate, this finished spicy and long.

I bought a regular Faust cabernet and the Pact turned up instead in the box. The wine was incredibly rich and decadent, with notes of cherry, berry, blackberry, cream de cassis, vanilla, ink, oak and tannins, with a long finish. I thought this could age for 5+ years more. It paired best with our dry-aged strip steak but was ok with the ribeye, too: both Club A Steakhouse leftovers from nyc.

Better than the normal Faust - even straight from the bottle this was drinkable. light fruit on the nose and strong medium body with medium tannins. Classic Cab that is not too fruit forward and lacks heat which was refreshing

Wonderful bottle at Flemings with Chris and Dallas. Refined Cab/Cab Franc. Better 30 minutes in.
