Dal Maso Società Agricola Gambellara Classico Ca' Fischele

Light yellow in color, with moderately intense aromas and flavors of stone fruit, peach, citrus, and grass. Not much complexity here. Fairly light in body, but with an overbearing acidity which becomes a negative when this wine is drunk on its own. However, this wine paired very well with feta olive chicken, as the searing acidity was tamed by the zangy feta and olives. Exclusively a food wine.

My last tasting compared this to a NZ Sauvignon Blanc, but I take it back. Lemon is the predominant fruit...think tart lemon merangue pie filling.

1/5/12 - Bright, crisp and refreshing. Lemon and citrus. Very similar to a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Recioto and Gambellara from Veneto (Milano Marittima (Ra)) : In this selection from a single vineyard, the fruit hints become more evident (white fruit to tropical). Also the minerality is more stressed.
