Enjoyed over nibbles at a farewell drink for Aussie lodger Matt. Very nice indeed and lovely as an aperitif. Crisp green apple and lemon on nose and palate. Not particularly complex or weighty but really enjoyable to drink.

Clear, pale golden-yellow color with fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose: lemon, green apple, pear, white flowers, brioche, and toasted nuts. On the palate, fresh, precise, and creamy with citrus and stone fruit. A long, mineral finish with a light saline note. Enjoyed with langoustines.

Pale lemon colour. Small and lively bubbles. Medium and developing nose with ripe green apples, ripe lemon, brioche, toast, biscuit, flint and wet stone. Medium taste of ripe green apples, ripe lemon, brioche, toast, biscuit, flint and wet stone. Long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium body. A very good English Sparkling with great concentration and potential. Drink now or over the next fifteen years. Goes well as an aperitif, or with fish or shellfish.

peat and flint on nose; crisp, heat; thick acidity but tarty; 7.5g/l however sugar is dedectable and covers up lack of fruit depth; unbalanced, reminds me of Pierre Gimonnet Oger 17';

Really disappointed, sulphur smell and decidedly lacking on the palate, good acidity, so much so I’m can feel reflux. Since writing bubbles have decreased in the glass, perhaps it’s an ‘off’ bottle but definitely not for me.

Gusbourne Winemakers Dinner (The Art School Restaurant, Liverpool) : Really pleasantly surprised by this! English Sparking wine is now truly competing. Pleasant nose of fresh white flowers, confectionary and almond. A lively palate with a perfect balance of richness and complexity. My joint wine of the evening.

A touch of smoky reduction on the nose and then peach and tropical fruit. Perfumed palate, full body, opulent texture. This has really filled out since I last tried it. Long.

Not quite as defined as the 18 or 16 but a really good expression. For the price few BdBs I’d rather. Lemon meragne pie comes to mind but has a great streak of acid. I’m sure this will last many more years.

By the glass by a freshly opened bottle at the BA Lounge, LHR. It’s up there and is of good quality, light confectionery, touch lacking focus and this is one for the patriots. Good effort and very well presented. 88

A lovely surprise - so much better than when we tasted this at the Gusbourne London tasting in October 2024. Perhaps benefited from a bit longer in bottle? A bit fuller, more balanced and less sharp than we expected. Very enjoyable indeed. We plan to drink our next bottle in Autumn 2025 and will take a view then whether to drink up the rest or lay them down for a few years.

First experience with Gusbourne bDb - and I've been looking forward for it. Conentrated nose punch developed into matured fruit. Hint of pear and apples. On the palate honey, and floral tones.

Gusbourne Tasting (Simona's Coffee + Cocktails) : More tart on nose and palate compared to the Gusbourne Brut Reserve with more apple and citrus. Like the light crust/cookie aroma from lees. Impressed!
